1) Who wrote the episode summaries?
Morgan wrote the summaries for Eye of the Beholder, As Darkness Falls, The March to Freedom,
and The Power. Jose, Marissa, and myself wrote the television movie ones. We also wrote the Darkness
Visible and Hercules, Tramps & Thieves summaries. The rest were copied off the show's now defunct
official website.
2) In some cases, why is the episode guide in an order that is different from the broadcast order?
Some of the episodes from Season 1, Season 3, and Season 5 were aired out of order. In those cases, we
decided to make our episode guide reflect the "best viewed in" order.
3) Whatever happened to Iolaus’ wife and kids?
During Hercules and the Maze of the Minotaur, we find out that Iolaus is a single father. That would
mean that his wife died. His kids are never mentioned during the series. In Redemption, Dahak tries
to turn Iolaus against Hercules by telling him that his partnership with Hercules never let him settle
down and have kids. Since the television movies ARE referenced at times during the series, they are
obviously cannon with it. We can count Iolaus’ kids as one of the many continuity errors.
4) Is Jason the ruler of Argos or Corinth?
Jason is the ruler of Argos in Once a Hero. A few episodes before that we are told that Sisyphus
rules Corinth. A few episodes after Once a Hero, during The Wedding of Alcmene, Jason is the ruler
of Corinth. During the young Hercules flashbacks, Jason is ruler of Corinth. It’s another continuity error.
5) Why weren’t there more crossovers with “Xena: Warrior Princess” during the later seasons of the show?
A lot of it had to do with shooting schedules and cash. But two other major reasons were Kevin Sorbo’s injury
during Season 4, followed by Season 6 only having eight episodes. The original plan for Season 4 was
to do the Dahak arc as a crossover with “Xena: Warrior Princess”, where Dahak was first introduced. Sorbo’s injury
forced the writers to come up with lighter stories to take the burden of work off him. The Dahak arc was moved to
Season 5. It also became exclusive to “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”. Had Season 6 gone a full 22 episodes,
the fall of the Olympian gods storyline would have been a huge crossover between both shows. It ended up being an
exclusive to “Xena: Warrior Princess”, though Kevin Sorbo guest starred as Hercules in one of the episodes.
