What is “Legend of the Seeker”?
A new syndicated television series produced by Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi of Hercules and Xena fame. It’s based off a series of novels by Terry Goodkind. It was filmed in New Zealand and will run for at least two seasons. Each season will have 22 episodes. The original title of the television series was “Wizard’s First Rule”.
How true to the books is the television series?
Not sure since I’ve never read any of the books. From what I’ve heard from people who have read the books, there are a good number of changes. That is obviously a given since books can’t always easily be translated to film or television.
Will there be a second season?
Yes. The show has been renewed for a second season.
Will there the first season be released on DVD?
The first season will be released in the United States on October 13, 2009. It will be a 5 disc set featuring all the episodes, deleted
scenes, Forging the Sword: Crafting a Legend and Words of Truth: A conversation with Terry Goodkind.
Who wrote the episode summaries?
The episode summaries for the first few episodes are from the show’s official website. They are copyrighted
by their respective author.
Are the episodes being aired in the correct order?
So far one episode might have aired out of order. I stress that it might have because I don’t think
continuity was messed up by airing Elixir out of production order. Listener did seem like it
was intended to happen right before Identity, yet in Elixir the threesome has been traveling for
a few months. I personally think Elixir would have fit better between Brennidon and Listener.
